Just got my CDL in May 2025. Went to Diesel Driving School in Sun Prairie, WI - I'm sure plenty of others on here did, too! It's been around forever.
Call it a mid-life crisis, or wanting to feel young, or whatever, but I just know it's time for a change. I have always loved driving and I do photography as a hobbyist/amateur, so I thought it might be a great thing to do with the rest of my working years. I'm in good health, still pretty agile, and I have two decade long friends who are drivers. They have mentioned a few times over the years that I should get into it, so I finally took their advice. Now I'm looking for my first driving job.
Wish me luck!

W & A Distribution Services - Opinions?
Just passed my unrestricted CDL A test a couple weekends ago, so now I'm trying to find a trucking company that provides training for new CDL school grads like myself. I gotta say I was a bit disappointed that the CDL schools don't teach you more - it's pretty much just enough to pass the testing.
I applied to W & A Distribution Services in Fort Atkinson, WI (where I live) because their info looked great and they offer a 4-week "finishing course" - basically on-the-job training for new drivers. I spoke on the phone with a talent acquisition specialist and was sent more info via email and the option for an in-person interview if I was still interested. I definitely am.
Has anyone here worked for them? Or has anyone heard good or bad about this company from their drivers out on the road? I did some searches and most of what I've found is positive, but I'm just trying to gather more info.
Any input is greatly appreciated.

New CDL Holder - Looking For My First Job
I live in southern Wisconsin. The city is between Madison & Milwaukee. I applied to and have an interview with W & A Distribution Services in Fort Atkinson. Just curious if anyone has heard of, worked for, or has any opinions otherwise about this company.
I’m not a young guy, but I just got my CDL last month. I have two owner operator friends who have told me for years that I should drive OTR, so I’m finally making the career change leap.
Any input is greatly appreciated.
