I know age is a number at least it is to me. I'm here to learn from you guys and start a brotherhood with others. I'm a Christian Man trying to live a good life. I'm married to a wonderful woman and between our families we have 25 grandkids with 2 of them being great grandbabies.
So guys and gals please be patient with me and hope I can learn the ropes.

Congrats… Don’t worry about others leaving, as OS said it always happens for various reasons.
I am about to turn 65 next month and I don’t normally do general freight. I generally haul the same product just in different forms.
Pay good attention to detail with load securement. Secure it properly and keep an eye on it while you have it and you will be fine.
Most drivers get into trouble because they don’t secure it properly in the beginning and don’t keep an eye on it. Straps can and will loosen up, and so will chains.
Always remember, it is better to over secure it, than under secure it.
pj you are correct and thanks for the tips.

Bobcat, that happens everywhere. Just focus on your own path to success. This trucking career has far more quitters than you can imagine.
I still love being out here as a flatbedder. I'm 65 years old. I've watched young strong men burn out so fast it's jaw dropping. There's a real lack of commitment and work ethic in our society. Do what you can to turn the tide. You'll have my respect.
Old School thanks for the advice and I will.

Today I finished orientation today. I got to say I’m glad I made them my first choice. Great training and just a wonderful experience, when the recruiter said that they were a Christian Base Company I had to check them out. A few guys that started with me has dropped off not real sure their reasons but that’s not my business. Loving this company.

Update on the Flatbed world research of course
Tuesday I will be taking my State Exam and McElroy will be visiting the Academy ( Coastal Truck Driving Academy of Lake Charles, Louisiana). Miss Betsy and her crew is awesome.
I'm looking hard toward McElory but then there's Jordan and TMC trucking. I've read about McElory on here but the post are like 10yrs old. Would it be possible to get update on all three? This is the best fourm I've read and researched please help me out .
Yes I'm a rookie but I got to find the correct path. Have a Bless Day.

McElroy my first choice
i missed posting yesterday, we was on backing yard and let me tell ya it’s a cultural change to a fixed axle flatbed from a box trailer. But I’ll not give up. Today I went on a 22 mile trip with a load it wasn’t that bad. Thanks guys for all you do out there on the road. God Bless!!
