So i got brave and decided to try out swift trucking school.
So far its not that bad but there is something im very confused about, and im not getting good answers.
First of all we got our dot cards in kansas city missouri.
Then we will take our final test here in salt lake city utah.
But you need a cdl in your resident state??!!! So we just have to wait for the mail then try to transfer it?
Someone told me you actually dont have to transfer it if your doing otr. That would be good for me since im planning on moving in the next 6 months anyways, so I wouldnt have to do it twice. Please help this confused begginer

Please help new to trucking and 100% lost about this!!!
I so want to truck drive! I kind of did it before. I used to run a 40 foot box truck otr half the country for a small company. I loved it so much. But unfortunately they didnt have enough work when the economy got bad. Anyways not to waste your time here is my question.
I was out of the country for 4 years teaching English. During that time my license expired i didn't even know. So when I got back I couldn't get a job trucking with my new license.
I tried to get a job threw driver solutions a year ago they said they couldn't help me.
I have no criminal charges ever!, Pretty solid work history outside of living in asia for so long. No accidents or points on my license.
I'm not sure actually how long my license was dead for back then, maybe 6 months?
Do you think I still have a shot at a company sponsored cdl school? life swift etc? I say this because Im currently back in asia, but I want to go back to usa for trucking. I really really want this as my career, the little i did I loved it so much. Any and all responses will be greatly appreciated.
