Herm, you can't live in Canada and drive mostly in the USA. You can deliver goods from Canada to the USA, and pick up goods in the USA for delivery to Canada, you cannot pickup goods in the USA and deliver them within the USA. That said, you could spend most of your driving time in the USA, as many drivers from Canada deliver and pick up goods in Laredo TX.

Are you doing a lot of deliveries to the south of the U.S.A. and returning from there with goods to Canada? If so, what's wrong with that?

Because my Wife andI will Live in the USA and not In Canada.In the USA you have a lot of more posibility as here....

Hello Michael Dont understand it wrong,i haul Fishloads and tiregoods FROM Canada in the States,delivery direct to the customer in east coast or south,and pick up a liveload or LTL direct back to Canada.I NOT load in US and deliver then to US,thats forbidden,I know the Law.

I don't think you'll find anyone who takes issue with folks who immigrate from other countries. It's the problem we face with the southern border and people coming in without any knowledge. Folks who sneak in without any background check or medical checks for that matter.

I was born in Germany, adopted when I was 3 by American military parents and became a citizen in 1976. My wife is Scottish and became an American citizen 6 years ago. Again, welcome to the US and have fun. There's scenery that will leave you breathless and plenty of sites to see.

Hello Robert Thanks for the Guten Morgen-but at Time i fight to get a visa for live inside u.s.I understand that a lot of ilegal workers are there and work for minimum wages.So nobody is interest for more foreign workers.I will come legal and follow the law.I have all permits for drive and enough knowledge.So I will see what happend find someone who sponsor me or not????

I'm not sure if you're going to have much luck getting hired by a U.S. company with what I assume is Canadian citizenship and CDL. I know there are a lot of companies that are based in Canada and run the U.S. regularly. Those companies would certainly work out well for you. But if it's an American-based company they may require you to have U.S. citizenship and a U.S. CDL.

You'll just have to Apply For Truck Driving Jobs and see if anyone is willing to give you an opportunity.

Hello Brett Thanks for the true.I was scary about that,but I try it.The last week I send a lot of application to big companies and all said NO.I can understand this they will protect the own workers.But I try it along,have time and wait.It makes no sense for me to must live in Canada but drive mostly in the states...I give me one year when nothing works then go back to my Homeland,will not live forever here!

I don't really have a problem with foreigners driving in the USA as long as they go through EVERY qualification test and learning process that we went through. This means you will need to be proficient in the ENGLISH language. You will also need to pass all the things we had to pass and perform to get our license.

This way, we Americans can feel confident that you're not going to be a road hazard to us as you drive our highways.

It also understood that American drivers tend to be used to American traffic procedures and courtesies. We expect the same of you. But if you haven't grown up or even driven our roads, then that kind of makes you a road hazard already. See where the resentment comes from?

Hello Keneth Your so right and I understand what it mean,after two years now on US Highways without accident,saw a lot of dangerous Situation.Think the problem is that so much companies take the Immigrants fresh from the school ,put them in the truck with a crashcourse in English and rules of US and let them drive allone.Good Luck- drive safe- BUT DRIVE........

Hello,i am Hermann,new in this forum but an oldschooltrucker,Live in Canada but drive USA only(the most Immigrants in Canada do this....)and I think its Time to changed my Life.Will now start to Immigrate in the south US San Antonio TX area.I knew that a lot of US residents not like when foreign Workers come inside and work,but when I see the advertisment from The Companies why they can t find enough Drivers?And whats the matter when i work and live in Canada and must drive in the eastcoast and southern of Amerika.Better I pay my Tax in US.....Will see,its just the beginning and now look for a Companie in texas who will hire a foreign worker.I am very corious if i ll find one...will see..Keep you updated
