Hi guys. Thanks to everyone for all of the great info. I've been considering a trucking career for awhile and many of the posts have been very helpful in separating the fact from fiction.
I'm looking for some current info from Carter Express drivers and specifically those who may be driving out of the Laredo terminal. I spoke with the recruiting department and the Laredo Operations Manager and I'm just trying to confirm some things from a drivers perspective. Most runs are to the Midwest or Southeast so it seems that miles shouldn't be a problem if they keep you moving. I really like some of the things they have to offer. Strong freight lanes to south Texas (I'm in San Antonio area). Good Equipment. No Touch freight. Frequent home time. Cpm is a little low just starting out but miles may make up for it.
How many miles do you average per week? What does a typical week look like? What is home time generally like? Do they keep you rolling when you are out? How is the wait for loads coming out of Mexico and into the US?
