I think that is going to be a real challenge. I see a lot of small box trucks in New York all the time - I am in the upstate area at least twice a month, sometimes more. There is just not that many "part time" trucking jobs available. The "irregular" part is what is going to be a snag for you. I recommend you start searching Craig's List in that area for transportation or trucking jobs. I'm sure there might be some other areas you can be looking into but that is where I would start looking first.

I should note I have housing in both locations so that wouldn't be a cost of operation for me.

Hello. For personal family reasons I'm looking to split my time between Buffalo NY and Albany NY. I've never worked in transit or shipping industries. I'm wondering if there's a way for me to make even a small amount of money (8k/year to the bank) transporting goods across the state. Would ideally be doing 3-4 trips/mth back and forth between Buffalo and Albany (Maybe more). Ideally something the size of a cargo van or a bit bigger.

I apologize this is kind of an odd question. I don't know how to begin researching the topic. Trying to take lemons and make lemonade.
