Question from a Career Coach -- Getting CDL Employment with 1+ OVWI's on your record

From what I’ve seen, getting hired with one OVWI is definitely possible, especially if it’s older and they’ve kept a clean record since. Two or more gets a lot tougher, though-not impossible, but many big carriers will pass.

Starting at HMD LLc

I’ve heard a few things from other drivers - seems like HMD treats flatbed guys decently, but it really depends on the dispatcher you get. Pay’s usually on time, and equipment’s not bad. If you don’t mind the extra work with securement, could be a solid gig.

Is Airgas a step up from Amerigas?

If the offer from Airgas gives you better pay, benefits, or long-term stability, it might be worth considering. But honestly, a chill manager who doesn’t breathe down your neck is hard to find. If you’re not being rushed and you’re getting full shifts even on slow days, that’s a big plus. Maybe ask Airgas a few more questions about the day-to-day and how the management is before jumping. Sometimes the grass looks greener but it’s just different.
