Parked Regen causes my exhaust to overheat

Hi, I am a rookie (2 months solo) and this is the first time my Freightliner has given me the cue to do a parked Regen. However, after a few minutes of Regen, the exhaust temp warning came on. I shut my truck off because I didn't want a fire. Is this normal for a parked Regen?
