I recently got my CDLs (a few weeks ago) when I started looking into companies I've simply become overwhelmed. There are so many companies and details to consider I feel a little lost. I'm not really sure what I should be looking for or where to start looking really. I used my GI Bill to pay for my schooling so I have no contract obligations.
I don't really have any preference (yet) on what I haul or where or even when. I'm single with no kids as well as being a vet so no or little home time doesn't carry as much weight in my decision as it may for others with more responsibilities/obligations. I do have a cat so finding a position in which I could keep her has actually been actually been one of my biggest concerns bc no creature needs to be left isolated for weeks at a time, especially when I took her life as my responsibility.
I know pay isn't necessarily the most important thing, but it is at the top of my list in consideration of a job.
So if any of you have any advice that could help me reduce the number of companies and other things to consider I would greatly appreciate it, and/or who are some good/reputable places to work and also where NOT to work would be great!
