I’m at swift academy school ... Started one week ago and was nerve racking at first because I had no clue what to expect... I have been driving 5500 flatbed truck with 40’ gooseneck trailer hauling pipeline equipment, Got my class A CDL in 2010 with air brakes restriction and no 18 wheelers.. November 2020 I decided to finally make my dream come true becoming a truck driver.. Jan 15 2021 I gave up the oilfield life to make my dream come true on January 18 2021 I started truck driving school at swift transportation in Memphis, TN ... nerve racking yes but I was given some knowledge in the last week I had never known before ..

First ever trucking job at Swift Transportation
I have been at swift academy for one week now .. Next week we start learning pre-trip , backing and driving on the road .. I already had my Class A CDL but never had the air brakes until now, My old company I was only driving 5500 flatbed with 40’ gooseneck trailer hauling pipeline equipment.. Truck driving has always been a dream of mine since I was a kid and now it’s real .. I’m a little nervous but hoping to get some advice on what to expect so I pass my driving test ..
