I've had my CDL since 2015. For the past 4 months I have been working for a Towing company doing both light and heavy tow. I work 12 hours a day 6 days a week. Day after Christmas I was nearing the end of my shift I ended up running a red light and hitting another vehicle. There were no fatalities but both vehicles were totaled. I was taken to the hospital & treated for concussion. I was slurring my words and when asked to sign the ambulance form couldn't remember how to write cursive so printed my name instead. I was pretty shaken up and fuzzy for a few days. The memory of what happened in the last half mile or so before the hit is gone. I don't know what I was doing that caused me to run the red. Did I space out? Did I fall asleep? Did I glance down to the GPS on my phone at the wrong moment? I just don't know, its a blank. My memory picks back up with a bang and careening towards the ditch. My employer wanted to keep me on because I do good work but they were overridden by their insurance carrier so I got the word today that they are letting me go. I had a ticket for speeding in my personal vehicle in 2017 but otherwise my record for the past 7 years is clear. What are my chances of getting another CDL job?
