Questions For All

J. L., that is a very good question! We here in the USA have issues, laws and methods that may be very different from other countries. I teach CDL truck driving, and have met drivers not only from "here" but from countries like Somalia and Argentina. Their earlier experiences inform their attitudes, but what is trucking life like in other places?

I hope you'll be able get in touch with those other places. Keep us up to date!

I have watched some shows about Places in africa and what its like there poor roads and no regulations. Dont you guys have different laws in different states and things like that? Do you have road restrictions? Because all your roads are pretty big right?

My guess would be that someone is thinking of developing an app for truckers, but doesn’t know what it should do.

so truckers use apps? no paperwork?

Questions For All

Hi there everyone,

I have some questions for all truckers WORLDWIDE and would love to hear from you all about what you think, to me your opinion matters! As I am not familiar with trucking lingo please use plain English where possible. Thanks. I have been a fan of trucks since I was a child and have the uppermost respect for you drivers and the essential work that you do in keeping the world turning. That being said, I would like to ask you all a set of questions that I want your brutally honest answers to. I would hope that in turn they will flow into discussions. I don't mind if its an essay or a one liner any replies are greatly appreciated. Below the questions are examples but please do not limit your answers to these. I am asking for your individual views so please try not to get heated by other peoples replies. I look forward to gaining more insight into your, the truckers, world.

So here goes...

What are the most common problems you face? -Be it, out on the road, at stops, while fueling, low signal, no bathroom, problems with loads, carriers, destinations, deliveries multi-drops, different laws/regulations in different areas etc.

What would make your job easier? -For example, being able to communicate instantly with a (carrier or destination) company or repair shop, being able to find the nearest bathroom or coffee/rest stop etc.

What is the most important information to you as a driver? -Is it load weights, destination accuracy, planning stops, cheapest fuel sites, closest fuel sites, etc.
