Will this stop me from being hired on at Swift?

double-quotes-start.png

Received a 16 over speeding ticket way back in 2015. Disposition date of 2018 when I finally got that ticket paid as I had forgotten about it. This is the only thing listed on my MVR from the recruiting department. I know 15+ is pretty severe for many companies. But does anyone have experience with this situation and still hired on by Swift?

Welcome to Trucking Truth, Trevor!

Andrey spelled it OUT for you. So much is changing this year; do you have a pre hire from Swift? Do you have your CDLP? Have you read the link I'm sharing, below? Where did you go to school; where do you live? State DMV laws vary, but DOT/FMCSA laws usually trump those.... just saying, your state may have 'downgraded' that citation, anyway. Being from 2015, many companies WILL accept that. Was it speeding or Reckless Op?

Kearsey can spell it out for Prime. It's still UP TO the company...and the actual citation may play in, as I mentioned.

The more info we get from you, the more the experienced guys and mods on this site can help. Still sticking with Andrey's reply, tho!

In the meantime;

Best wishes;

~ Anne ~

Yep, got my Pre-Hire from Swift a yesterday before I got the completed MVR in my email this morning. I do the written test for my CDLP tomorrow as Swift told me to get it done before they sent me to their driving academy on the 17th in Memphis. My MVR says "Speeding" nothing about reckless. But if I am not mistaken, don't many trucking companies consider 15+ reckless regardless of what the MVR states?

After looking up Alabama laws it looks like the points drop off the license in 2 years but the the ticket remains on the MVR for life. So my license currently has 0 points which is great.
