Looking for a plan B just in case
Good idea is post on your profile the state in which you live currently for more refined answers to your question lol
Hopefully, you will find a company that will let ya bring your "kids" along.....Cats are neater than dogs lol and take up less bed space too
Hhhmmmm.. thought I did that last night. I will double check. I am in Mississippi.

Looking for a plan B just in case
Hi all, been lurking for quite a while and just registered a week or two ago. I was a truck driver about 5 years ago for a mega reefer hauler for about six months then was let go for the dumbest of reasons. I wont go into details of that right now, but I am on rehire with review status with them. Clean DAC, Clearinghouse and MVR. I have kept up with my CDL and just recently renewed my medical cert. I have been applying to so many companies it isn’t even funny but I am running into a problem with getting back on the road. 1. Is my lack of recent experience. Its 5 years old so very few companies will touch me without more recent OTR time. 2. The few that have said they would take me on and give me some refresher training either don’t allow pets, only one pet or no cats... I have two very well behaved cats that I rescued who are the only things I have and love. They are like my kids.
I have a friend who can watch them while I am going through my refresher training, but can’t keep them very long. I do have one company, who the recruiter swears will be fine with me having them with me when I go solo, but I have been lied to by a few, and I was able to call them up to ask another recruiter about it to make sure just to find out that it wasn’t ok. The company I am looking at is kinda small and has only one recruiter that I have been able to talk to so getting a second opinion is kinda hard. I am scheduled for orientation in about a week but I would like to see if any of y’all fine folks happen to know of any (decent) companies that will allow them to be with me for sure. A deposit is no problem for me, but I must be able to bring them with me when I go solo and not have to wait 90-120 days afterwards as I don’t have anyone to help take care of them for that long.
Just looking for a plan B in case this company doesn’t work out. I am planning on pretty much living in the truck for long periods of time once I get in. Thanks a bunch in advance!

That may be a setback, but I am confident there is someone out there who will take us on. I know people are trucking with pets while working for companies. I think my biggest hurdle will be the recent experience. I had quite a few call backs from companies that stated my cats would be ok but the experience is the issue. How can I get experience when the insurance companies won’t touch me. Lol. I will find a way. Thanks!
