Hair follicle testing

Then why would a company, even ask? If it’s not DOT required?

Hi! I'm a DOT Certified Drug Screening Technician and Instructor.

Currently, the DOT does not recognize hair follicle testing for their tests. At this time, there is no such thing as a DOT hair follicle test.

A failed or refused hair follicle test will not be sent to the FMCSA clearinghouse, only DOT Urine and Breath Alcohol will go to the clearinghouse. As such, I do not think it could affect your license.

Can someone provide up to date info as of 2022 If you fail The test, is it reported to DOT? Are they DOT required? Can your license be taken away?
