Change of career from law enforcement to CDL driver

This is the exact same boat I am in right now. I just moved from an inner city police department where the pay was bad to an airport police job, but I am 41yrs old and need to put away as much money as I can in the next 10yrs or so. My dad always had trucks and I always loved them but ran far away because I hated working on them when I was younger. Surprisingly enough I'm now looking into the truck driving field.This may seem weird but I remember the smell of the exhaust every time my dad came home and that has always stuck with me. I make $54k now and it might go up to $60k in January but again in don't love what I do anymore.
