Class A and Random testing, not working yet

Trucking with Kearsey,

No Issues with Drugs or alcohol. But yes, someone did show up at my home, asking about the school i attended. so it made me ask the question, about being tested, if pulled over, and after reading all of the posts, i wanted clear answers regarding all of the above questions.

I believe, drinking alcohol or being under the influence, while driving is a big deal and obviously very dangerous. however, people do use marijuana for cancer and other medical conditions and should be allowed to use it when not working. just my opinion.

thanks all for the replies.

Class A and Random testing, not working yet

Hi All,

I just my Class A this year. I have not found work yet, and now my family is moving. It will be six months to a year before i begin my search for a trucking job. My questions are:

If I get pulled over in my personal vehicle by highway patrol or DOT law enforcement, can they randomly drug test me just for holding a Call A? Can anyone from DOT or law enforcement, just show up at my house, whenever and randomly test me? Even though i am not yet working?

I understand the rules regarding driver safety in this field, but again, I'm not currently working in this field, and will be sure to obey all of the rule, when i start seeking employment.

thanks. Lee
