2 NON DOT RECORDABLE Preventable Incidents

First off man i don't have to make an excuses about nun I'm man enough to own up to anything i did. Yes like i said it was a keypad at a towing yard where i picked up at, another drivers load & it was off a cliff , & space was very tight so that's why i said trying to save my own life by making sure my trailer tires didn't go off the cliff. The way there yard is. & second off you right about the day time & night time but don't give me that talk, every driver have had some type of incident. I perform safely , but things happen. I'm just trying to see what to do or how to go about it.

hit a lil keypad, but it was actually the way the yard was & it just came out of the ground but they could've just stuck it back in the ground & drilled it down. So it wasn't life threatening at all. & yeah i got out to crank the trailer down, but it was night time & real late on a dark lot so I'm guessing i didn't crank it down good enough. They were 7 months apart, & naw that's the only thing that's on it. I got 1yr & 8mnths of experience

To me, it sounds like you're trying to make excuses and not take responsibility for it. Your initial comment said you hit the pole to save your own life. Then you try to downplay it by saying they could've just put it back in and drilled it down, and somehow blaming it on the way the yard is. Why should they? You damaged it. Also the second incident night time, daytime it doesn't matter you're expected to safely do the job. Do you not have a flashlight? All the cellphones I've owned since atleast 2008 have had one even.

Curious minds want to know.....how did saving your own life result in hitting a pole?

When you were coupling did you stop just before you went under the trailer to check height? Many drivers skip this step but it's nearly impossible to miss your pin if you double check your height and alignment between 5th wheel and kingpin.

How close together were these instances? Any other incidents/tickets? How much experience do you have? As Ryan stated get a copy of your DAC and see what exactly is on there and apply everywhere.

2 NON DOT RECORDABLE Preventable Incidents

It's showing NON DOT RECORDABLE: 2 1. Struck stationary object 2. Backing That's all it say, but on the mvr i don't have an accident on there

I need you all to give me some advice about me having a good driving record beside having 2 Non DOT Recordable incidents on my DAC. 1.) struck a pole at drop yard on private property, trying to save my own life. 2.) Backing, i was backing the truck up to connect to my trailer & the kingpin was on top of the fifth wheel with cause the Wing on the back to bend. Mainly the 2nd one is the one that caused me my job. Basically some advice about starting a new company.
