New Class A driver. NC DMV made a mistake with M restriction.

I'm struggling to find out what the mistake was from the DMV.

I have an "M" restriction.

I used to drive public transportation, I got my A license, I now drive for Swift. I can still drive public transportation. The M restriction is simply, I did not test for my A in a passenger transport vehicle, I cannot drive a class A passenger transport vehicle. I can Drive a Class A combination vehicle carrying cargo that doesn't complain. Or I can still drive a Class B passenger Vehicle. Just not a Class A passenger Vehicle.

But I'm struggling in your post to understand how the DMV exactly made a mistake.

My bad I was seeking advice. I believed it was a mistake because the way it was worded. It seemed to say I could only drive a Class B or C vehicle. I have since talked to several people with knowledge on the subject and realize that I read it wrong and need to learn how to read legal jargon. Now that I have it all cleared up I have to remove this topic. Thank you for chiming in, I appreciate it.

From the FMCSA website. "If a driver possesses a Class A CDL, but obtains his or her passenger or school bus endorsement in a Class B vehicle the State must place an "M" restriction indicating that the driver can only operate Class B and C passenger vehicle or school buses."

New Class A driver. NC DMV made a mistake with M restriction.

So I have recently graduated from a truck driving school and passed my test in a tractor trailer. I previously had a Class B license with a passenger (P) endorsement so I asked them if that would carry over to my Class A. I'm not exactly sure why I even wanted to hang on to it but anyways the lady at the DMV said yes, so they put it on and then said I would get an M restriction. I asked what that meant and they told me I would be able to drive any class vehicle but if or when I drove passengers around it would have to be in a Class B or C vehicle. Sounded legit because they're the ones that know the laws and regulations, right?

I've already been back and forth with them and getting nowhere with it. Now I'm kinda stuck not knowing what's going to happen with my license. I was told I would need to take the test all over again to remove the restriction. Is this true? They can't just take the restriction off? They messed up. They gave me false information. Does anyone have any insight as to what I can do other than taking the test all over again?

Now it's the weekend and I have to wait till Monday. To top it all off, on Monday May 1st they start a new thing at the DMV about walk-ins can only come in after 12. I swear, if it's not one thing it's another.
