Yeah. All these "commercial" violations were in either car, van, or pickup. All less than 10,000 lb. gvw. Maybe it's just a mistake. Thanks.

Hi everybody. Decided to join so I could ask a question that not many people could answer.
Does your cdlis begin with just having your fmcsa medical card? Possibly? I recently went to cdl school and got my cdl only to be told by recruiters at a couple companies that my previous violations were "com. veh. Y" violations. Meaning, I guess, that somehow I have a commercial driver's license record even though I just got my cdl four days ago. I have had a medical card for a while, however, to drive the usdot registered one ton at my previous job. Hopefully the third party background check company or DMV made a mistake but I'm wondering if the medical card might be the problem? Any ideas would be very helpful. Thanks.

The answer is no it didn't. Luckily, I never had an infraction in the vehicles that I got the medical card to drive. All vehicles were personal vehicles not registered with DOT being driven by a non-cdl-holding driver(me). So it would seem the DMV or third party background company made a mistake... unless the medical card started me into the cdlis.
