So tell me... Am I delusional?
Okay so I had my first driving lesson... Honestly its not that bad at all, I thought it was going to be harder. I have to renew my permit though I waited to long to the start the lessons.
Anyway, I've been researching companies to work for. What does it mean exactly when a job description says choose your own schedule? And what what about picking your own days off? I see some have that, like 6 days off per month that you pick. Would I be able to pick 6 days at the end of the month and 6 days in the beginning of the next one to give myself 12 consecutive days?
Or for a month give myself the weekends off? I know this is a lot of questions but I've been wondering about all of this.

Hello everyone, I've been researching trucking careers for a while now. Maybe I'm crazy but I think I would have fun with this job... The only problem is that I'm a full time NYC Correction Officer. But I'm so interested in trucking I would consider leaving that job to do it. I have my first CDL trucking driving lesson next monday.
I'm looking for some opinions on this. Am I crazy? And is living on the road not as glorious as it seems to me?

Serously considering truck driving as a career...
Hello everyone, I've been putting a lot of thought into this and I'm considering leaving my current job for a career in truck driving. I've already passed general knowledge and air brakes. Next week I'm gonna take the combination vehicle and passenger endorsement test to get the CDL permit. The main problem though is that I already have a good career, I'm a correction officer and I have great benefits and pension but I hate the job. It takes me 2 hours to get to work and home from work because of the traffic, that combined with the stress of the job is making me consider leaving, but I won't leave unless I find something else good. So anyway, are there a lot of good trucking jobs that aren't long haul? And am I crazy for considering leaving my current job?

I'm taking lessons from the AAAA driving school. You take a certain amount of lessons then take the driving exam for the CDL. I didn't ask them if they provide any sort of certificate. Why?
