Prime Inc. PSD. 3/21

Well we're about two days out from when I leave. I live in spring hill and my bus was supposed to leave from spring hill to then go to Tampa which is like an hour away from me with a 5 hour layover. I called my recruiter and she was able to change my ticket to leave from Tampa to avoid having that 5 hour layover 1 hour from home. Kind of a pointless updat but shows some of the flexibility of the company. Had no problem getting a new ticket. How awesome is that?

More updates to come! I'll give an update after my 1.5 hour layover in Atlanta at 3AM. IF I LIVE. ;)

Prime Inc CDL Training Diary - Orientation, Local PSD, TNT Training

Thanks for all the awesome info. I start prime on the 21. I can't wait. For the permit test how many questions is it? I've studied the high road but what sections should I study specifically? My recruiter said the email I receive on Tuesday will have all the info I need as far as supplies and studying etc.

Prime Orientation 3/21

Hey that's true. Lol. I'm bringing my sneakers not gonna wear boots always. Thanks for the advice.

Congrats!

BTW, keep those "formal trucker clothes" for when you're at a shipper or receiver. Get yourself some sweats, cotton shorts, and sneakers. Most of your time will be spent driving - be comfortable. Comparing sitting in a pair of jeans in a chair for 10 or so hours a day with sitting in a pair of sweats is really no comparison at all.

Hey thanks for that. I haven't been on here for about 8 months.

Does Daniel B live in Florida?

He does not live in FL and he no longer works at Prime either. He can definitely give you some great advice on how to get placed with a trainer at Prime though!

Good luck and keep us updated!

Prime Orientation 3/21

Well after much thought and debate 2 to 3 years of research and changing my mind. I have finally made up my mind. I have been approved and accepted with Prime and I start 3/21. I will be getting my bus and hotel information tomorrow. I'm so excited. Can't stress that enough. I've braced my mind for the lifestyle away from family living In a truck and I think I'm ready. Today I got some blue jeans shirts and a pair of boots. Tomorrow the full list will come in of what I need and I will be sure to get that. I will start a training diary and possible Vlog on YouTube. But we will see how much time I actually have. I look forward to seeing all of you. We won't know it but we'll be traveling the same roads, dealing with the same things. Talk to everyone real soon.

Any trainers on TT that life in Florida? Does Daniel B live in Florida?

Anyone working at Prime (LT trucks )

If they ever answer me I won't be far behind! Lol I will hopefully be going out soon.

Daniel B--- How oftern do classes start? Is there a time frame?

I'm leaving for Prime on March 14 for training and have decided that I don't want to do a lightweight. The extra $.05/mile @ 500 miles/day (high, I know) is only an extra $25/day. I feel like with a full size, I'll be able to save at least some of that money by preparing some of my own meals, and much more important to me... eat healthier.

I'm back!

HERE I AM ONCE AGAIN!!!

How is everyone doing? Needless to say, I am getting the **** out of the full service restaurant industry. I don't know what it is, Family dining the company i worked for or me!

I applied for a new job as a quick service Assistant manager and they are already pushing me around, and I'm not playing those games, I'm going to do something I've always wanted to do. My wife is pushing me to do what I want to do and that is to be on the open road! I have a phone interview with CREngland tomorrow who promises dedicated/regional routes fresh out of training.

I have been calling Prime all day.. Prime is where I really want to get into. Holly is my recruiter and she hasn't answered me nor the main line all day!

How has it been guys? I'm studying now to get my permit in FL so I don't have to go and get it as part of my training I'm going to be one step ahead. I'm more than excited to do this. I'm doing it for real this time. It's great to be back,
