You know what's worse than laundry day?

Laundry day OTR...

Laundry day with no washer... Only a mud puddle available... That happens to have an alligator in it...

Keystone Diesel CDL training program and starting at Roehl

I finally made it. I passed my driving test today and am now a licensed Class A driver. Im really looking forward to getting everything in oreder at home next week then i go and start at roehl after that its so nice to be able to work again.

Great job man! Keep it up! Just started reading today. I will make sure to keep an eye out for more. Its always scary and tough before it becomes second nature. These trucks scared me to death when I started, gets you nervous like your about to get shot at. Lol. I have never faced a harder task in my life. When it was all said and done, I have never been more proud of myself and my class mates. Happy to see you didn't give up on yourself and the best of luck to your new life/career. Kinda feels good to have that license in hand now don't it? Lol.

Contrary to popular beliefs, for an O/O who hualed HIS/HER own trailer that would be a great idea. Mounted on top/center of your trailer, that thing looking down seeing both corners of a trailer would be sweeeeeet.

For rookies no, for reassurance, ohhh yea.

I have 3 Go pro's. They work great at seeing everything. I still get out from time to time. I mount mine FR of trailer , FL of the trailer and one right on the rear. I connect them via a Samsung tablet that's mounted on the dash. I can view all three or pick between them. Evertime I stop it takes two second to take them off ( theft prevention) and remount when im ready to go. I use it when driving to keep an eye out for blind spots as well. Many uses...

Get a go pro hero 4, water proof case. Mounts for them may not hold up. So buy you a real strong magnet to mount it. You will be able to mount it where ever with ease. It will connect wirelessly to your phone, Go App.

*Go Pro app.

Why paying truckers by the mile is unfair and dangerous

I agree with Sam C. You will do this run for this amount. Take it or leave it.

You know it would be a great idea. Reality would kick in. The lazy people would drive that idea right into the river. LD "If I'm getting payed for the load, I'm just going to take my sweet time."

New Student

double-quotes-start.png

I have my permit, my only question is what should I study before I attend the school to make my training any easier?

double-quotes-end.png

Our High Road Training Program covers not only the materials to get your CDL permit and all endorsements, but we've gone beyond that and built sections on Logbook Rules and Truck Weight And Balance. Study those two sections because it's information you critically need to do your job day in and day out but the schools don't cover it well at all.

Here is how our entire program breaks down:

To Get Your CDL Permit:

  • Rules & Regulations
  • Driving Safely
  • Transporting Cargo Safely
  • Air Brakes
  • Combination Vehicles
  • Pre-Trip Inspection
  • Driving Exam

To get your CDL endorsements which are optional but we highly recommend you get:

  • Transporting Passengers
  • Doubles And Triples
  • Tankers
  • Hazardous Materials

And two sections we've built ourselves with info you'll need for everyday life on the road but the manual doesn't really cover it:

  • Logbook
  • Weight & Balance

Hey Brett, Idea. School bus. A Study Guide for S endorsement? Sorry just thought of that.

Preparer tax identification number (PTIN).Anyone that wants to file another person tax return is required to have one. Electronic Filing Identification Number (EFIN) (Used for E-File.) Efin is used mostly for businesses that E-File tax returns.

No W2s, now what??

She's asking for this:

http://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Tax-Return-Transcript-Types-and-Ways-to-Order-Them

Wage and Income Transcript - shows data from information returns reported to the IRS, such as W-2s, 1099s and 1098s. Current tax year information may not be complete until July.

Sorry my bad. 1098s is a mortgage interest statement. You wouldn't have one because you own your home. Why would you need that?
