Welcome, Qwa....As Redgator stated...its about what your weight is doing to you, or limiting you in. But I'm fluffy, and it didn't become an issue when I was driving... Keep on coming in here, we'll help all we can...and be sure and start the High Road....it will make the cdl school ALOT easier for you....
Thank you for the advice. And yes, the High Road Training has worked wonders. I love how it incorporates questions from previous sections. It's great for memorization. I'm more confident that I can pass my written permit test now. The practice tests they provide on the DMV sight aren't detailed enough, and only has questions for basic operations of a CMV.

You never said your weight? But im 5'1 and weigh 230lbs. Ive had 2 physicals and retained a 2 yr med card each time. Trust me ive seen some of these folks out here and being fluffy isnt an issue. They will check you for risk factors of sleep apnea which includes weigh, neck size, bmi and a 4th factor im unsure of but as long as you can drop it like its hot (lol), touch your toes and reach the sky your good. I had to ask the doc if we were doing a physical or a porn audition lol
haha, I can definitely do that. Thank you for the help.

Thank you all for your feedback and support. It's greatly appreciated. This has been a dream of mine for a long while, and even more so when I discovered the movie Smokie & the Bandit a couple of years ago. lol

Hey, I'm considering a career in the trucking industry, all i have left to do is take a DOT physical, and obtain my permit before i enroll into Swift's CDL school. I was wondering, as an overweight woman, will i have any issues passing my physical? I don't have hypertension, sleep apnea, or diabetes that i know of, my hearing is great, and i have decent vision (with my glasses of course). And to go a little further, will I have trouble performing the duties of a trucker, both while in training, and once I get out? I've seen some very helpful things on this sight, so I hope someone will be able to lend a little advice.
Thank You in advance,
Qwa

Yes, this site is awesome. Many of the questions that you may have can be found somewhere in the forums, or if you don't feel like looking so hard, you can pose the questions yourself, and the replies are fairly quick. Make sure you check out The High Road CDL training course on here, it's helping me out so much.
Also, I noticed that we're from the same state, maybe we'll run into each other one day. Best of luck.
