A few questions about out of state license suspension while having a valid license

James, Armando gave you some great advice. I know how tough it can be when you are struggling financially to pay off an old ticket, but if you want to get a CDL and drive OTR you don't have any options but to get all your old stuff cleaned up first or at least make some payment agreements with the folks who may even have a warrant for you. The last thing you want to have happen while out on the road is to get stopped and arrested - your career will be over - I'm talking no one will hire you after your employer puts on your DAC that you abandoned their equipment. That is what will happen, and you do not want to go down that road.

From what I remember, I could not obtain a license through the dmv in colorado. But I never had a license in colorado so its not a suspension. Its a sticky situation. But I hear ya on cleaning it up before I have a huge problem later down the road. First thing in morning, I am going to contact the county clerk to see what they have to say about how much I owe and what are the issues with me driving in that state. I want to do this so I'll get it done. I am glad to know there is a good community of fellow truckers and future truckers. Thank you everyone for the advice and the guidance through this process.

I would call the county clerk in the county you have the ticket in and see if your driving privileges are revoked or not. Then I would pay it asap. Your CDL is in a federal database which all states report to.

I do not have a CDL yet but I was considering go to a trucking school in Tampa, FL. Looks like I might be screwed til I pay it off.. Thanks for the help guys.

A few questions about out of state license suspension while having a valid license

This may sound strange but I have a current/active/unsuspended license in Florida. But the thing is I have a unpaid ticket in Colorado. (it is a insurance ticket) I do not know if I can drive in Co at this moment. I have been struggling financially so I am having a hard time paying it off. I am considering going to trucking school to get my CDL class A but I do not want to waste my time if a ticket in Colorado is going to hold me back from getting with a trucking company. I really need to make money soon. Is there anyone out there that can help me with this confusing situation? I am not really sure what to do about this..
