Quick question in regard to sleep study / cpap

So ive been reading a few different post about getting a sleep study done at your physical if they deem it necessary. Im 6'0 and about 300, so im sure my BMI is shot to hell (Ive been working on it i swear :D )

So point is, I actually had a sleep study done a few years ago, was diagnosed with mild sleep apnea and suggested a cpap. At the time I chose to not go that route and instead changed my sleeping habits (different bed type, position etc) which helped my sleep a lot.

So should I give them this info straight up or let them diagnose me themselves or what?

Thanks all ^_^

My story

What a story of inspiration Daniel!

I wished I had had your smarts and drive when I had been your age. I used to work for a manufacturing company for about 8 years, making 50-60k a year. However all the OT and seeing the same 4 walls day after day drove me to seek another job in a different state. That unfortunately crumbled and I wound up dragging myself back to my home state with the proverbial tail between my legs.

After spending several months in a depressive funk due to bills piling up and no money, I happened to look back into the idea of training to be a driver. I came across this site (and many others that almost drove me away, wont say names, you know who they are im sure) and it put a breath of positive hope in me that I COULD do this and be successful. So here I am now, studying my ass off and reading tons of posts here on TT and headed to prime at the end of the month.

Hope to one day meet some of ya on the road!

Not to hi-jack this thread but I sure would appreciate any recommendation on a Springfield trainer from you or OldSchool...if even they would agree. smile.gif

OS wouldn't know he doesn't drive for Prime. Just be proactive really. There's a million students and only a 100 instructors, make yourself stand out from the crowd. Engage in conversations, be polite and when it's Pretrip inspection time you better be having your head under that hood. They're looking for students who want to learn and not stand all day and chat.

Thanks for the heads up! I have a mechanical interest / tendency anyway so head under the hood shouldnt be a problem LoL! Im hoping to be as outgoing and intuitive as i can (im normally pretty reserved), If I have to be an ass kiss, So be it LoL! ^_^b

Headed to Prime at the end of the month!

Thanks everyone for the welcome! Ive been trying to absorb all the info from the High Road training program, Im finding it a lot easier to follow that the straight up state CDL book, so its kept me busy. :D

@Old School: Yea sadly my lil friend wont be going with (at least at first anyway) She's going to stay with some friends who raise / breed pythons til I can make my own accommodations

@Gary E.: Indeed, i'll be starting on the 27th unless something comes up to cause me to have to delay a lil bit.

@Daniel B: Thanks for the heads up! I'll be sure to keep that in mind if I have questions!

@Midnight Cowboy: Grats on the TNT phase! Be glad to say hi if we bump into each other! :)

Headed to Prime at the end of the month!

Heya all,

Just wanted to jump in and say hello! As the title says, Im headed to Prime at the end of the month for company sponsored training. Currently going through the training program / information here as i'd like to try to get my NC CDL permit before I leave, for one less thing to worry about.

Both excited and nervous to be making a change to the trucking field. Its always been in the back of my mind, like an itch that wont go away. So im taking advantage of a changing point in my life to go forward with it!

Love the site so far, tons of info here and lots of answers to questions I already have. Hope to get a chance to interact with peeps here and hope to contribute to the site in the future!

Till Later, Will H.
