Get this damned headset off of me!
Hey, truckers. I'm a 30-year-old tech support guy in serious need of a change. I'm a disciplined minimalist who thrives on solitude, and think that life on the road would suit me right down to the ground. The more I learn about trucking, and the more I envision myself as a trucker, the more I think I'd be silly not to make the jump. Most of the world would probably consider me insane, but I can hardly think of anything sexier than driving for hundreds of hours with only audiobooks, podcasts, and maybe a dog for company. I've been slowly filling a two-terrabyte hard drive with audiobooks from the library in anticipation of the day I become a trucker. I feel quite lucky that what I want so badly is something that most people don't find appealing, because that means I won't have to compete as much for it as I might otherwise.
I guess that's about all for now. Nice to be here.
