Prime vs swift vs millis

I went to a private trucking school. I got a sallie mae note. It was a 480 hour course and it was weekends and weds nights. I couldn't do the week day course cause I needed to work. Got my class A and went to Prime did 40000 with a trainer.Got my own truck and about 5 months later prime sent me a check to pay the sallie may note with. It was a reimbursement check

What would you do in this situation?

Btw Dominick Did you see in the video you posted that there is a side road on the left side that you could have probably used instead of killing that Truck

What would you do in this situation?

I had it happen to me once.. In shunctey ny I was going to the shipper going by the gps it was 2 am came accross a bridge the sign was behind some branches with leaves on them I spotted the sign and it said 12'6 So I pulled over got out of the truck and saw a side road 100 yards back looked at the road (down the road and up in the air) knew i could fit so I backed up down the side ride road and turned around.... What I should have done was look at the directions on the call Qumm and followed them instead of the gps. I learned a lession that day . Always follow the directions your company gives you.

Abandoned Truck

After reading quite a few posts on the subject, it seems there are usually hard feelings on behalf of most companies when any departure occurs....and of course it will for everyone at one time or another. Can a driver just say 'it's been good and I am ready for a change' without ill will on their part? I am planning on starting my career with a major trucking company, drive for 1 year, then re-evaluate for a second year.

To answer your question yes they can . I did I called my fleet manager one day and said I am quiting due to problems at home how much of a notice you need? She told me I will get you a load heading this way (PA) stop by your house and unload everything you dont need and after you get unloaded at your 90 drive to the termal and drop off the truck. I did that and when I was saying my good bys she asked me if I needed a ride home which is MA because she would have had a trucker swing by and I would have hitched a ride back, But I was allset I rented a cheap car to drive home so instead she had someone take me to the rental place to pick it up.. That was 3 years ago.. Now load and behold I am going back to work for them.

What did you do before becoming a truck driver?

I was a house framer started when I was 18 back in 1988 . Learned the trade was one of the best. Started my own framing company I hated it dealing with builders people calling out chasing money etc etc etc . closed my doors and went back to the old boss ran his crew until the market crash.. Ran out of work, I was self employed so no unemployment and other framing companies were under cutting to the point where it wasnt worth it. besides the fact its a young mans game . I was 40 then . So I went to trucking school and went over the road. I love it !!!!!!! Body doesnt have pain anymore

Considering Prime for Schooling and Teaming with Fiance

When I started for Prime back in 2010 before that I was a house Framer and I DIDN'T get a w-2 or a1099 . I worked for the same guy (framing company) since 1989 and he paid me but every year it was up to me to firgue out what I made never gave out w-2 or 1099. Prime took his word that I worked for him. They never asked me for proof of a w-2. They just called himand he verfied over the phone..I think they also faxed him a piece of paper he had to fill out stating that I worked for him and faxed it back.

When she would need to a repower a load she would call me because she knew I could get it there on time, never complained did my job, safe,on time, and professional. And again your right I had them all on my side and I got the good paying loads and high miles. I proved myself and they trusted me.
