Air Brake Section

LOL sailing along the high road review * well been doing sections here and there* then I get to the air brake section I do not know what it is but on paper I am horrible with braking systems. I remember taking the state mechanics test and just skimming by the auto brake section its like a bad night mare. I am confident in identifying parts on a truck once i learn them but I am horrible with brakes on paper test for some reason I just have trouble with it.

Hopefully I can review this enough times before I actually start school in the next month or so to get it.

One Thing I'm Both Mystified and Amused About: Why the AVERSION To NYC Runs?

I remember when I graduated high school me and a couple buddies drove there from Michigan just for something to do, even in a car I remember how crazy the traffic was there, cabs yelling at truckers vice versa. I could not imagine driving a semi through that place and keeping my sanity lol

Starting school in July

Well decided I am going to start school in July. I will be taking night classes so I can keep working my current job until I am done. I am wondering now how does Pre Hire work do I wait until I start school or do it before.

Thanks for the help everyone. Until I start I am doing chunks of the High Road quiz's here and there.

CDL School

So i have narrowed in down to Suburban CDL and Trainco inc in Michigan, I actually called today to see about enrolling Trainco they are rite under 4000.00 tuition however up until today I was thinking suburban but the fact that they will not disclose what the tuition actually is scares me.

More Questions About Trip Planning

I have been seeing some questions about trip planning which makes me wonder what happens when your time is up and you have not found a truck stop? I thought about this the other day because my current job is across from pilot at i69 in mi and that place is constantly packed.

Negativity Online about Trucking

double-quotes-start.png

Man you guys were not joking about the negativity, I have read everything from trucking will be obsolete in ten years to it is impossible to make over 30k a year running legal.

Well it is not deterring me I stopped by the school that is 5 minutes from me today on my way to work to see if they had any information to check them out but they did not have much a 1 page flyer is all. In the mean time I started the High Road training coarse to soak in some information while I decide on schools.

double-quotes-end.png

Hey, even if it is only thirty the first year it is still cheaper than going to trade school and paying back a student lone. You can make a lot of money in ten years time(after the initial first year you make 30k). Check out what is written here about schools. Most people would complain now days if you hung them with a new rope.

hahahaha I meant that he said 30k was what the pay tops out at not what you start at, I would be happy making even slightly under 30k I have been at my current job for 4 years as an IT at a small mom and pop place in a town and still don't even make 27k which is why I am moving on. I went to school thinking I would love the IT trade only to find so did a million others and doing this job for 4 years I would rather work along for the most part.
