Hello everybody, This is Sam the 4th here and thanking everybody for replying to my recent post. I didn't know if i wanting to flatbed, dry van or refer. After looking all the companies and my location, I decided to go with Knight Transportation. I can get my CdL without a year long commitment. The training facility is only 2 1/2 hours from my house. The terminal is only one hour from my house. Now I only need to figure out if I want Dry or Refer. I am going to start the application process in February. I cant wait, but have to wait to be financially ready for lower pay until I go solo. Me and family thinks this is a great start for my new career. Does anybody here work out of Columbus OH or Indianapolis IN. If so, how do you like the people working for the company. Thanks again, and all have a Merry Christmas.

Hello everybody, I am starting school February or March(waiting for taxes to pay for schooling). I been working for Walmart DC for eight years now, march is 9 years. I want to change to a career and something I love(driving). I am trying to get things in order before I start school and figure out which company and division I want. Been looking at maverick and knight. Can't decide if flatbed or van would be best to start as a newbie. Does anybody have hints or advice to figure out which one will fit me better. I am open to more companies but don't know all of them. I like Knight because I can get my CDL without any commitment. Or is getting my CDL more beneficial from CDL school. I have a family with three children and we all know what's ahead. My father in law was a truck driver all of his working career. Looking at getting home time every other week. Hello Truckers, I am knew to the trucking industry and looking to change to this career. Some of you guys might saw one of my post last week. I want to thank everybody that responded to my question. I been working at a Walmart DC for 8 years as an Order filler. If you don't know what an order filler is, Its the jobs that puts cases on pallets that the Walmart Stores order. Then the loader put the pallets on the trailer then the Walmart driver takes it to the store. I put applications at Driver Solutions(Pam Transport) and Knight Transportation. I have heard from both and waiting on my criminal and driving record. I been looking at the forum on Pam and I saw that they do team. That's one thing I don't want to do, so I more going with Knight Transportation. A plus about Knight is my home terminal is 1 hour away and the CDL training facility is 2 1/2 hours from my house. Driver Solutions CDL school is also 2 1/2 but not sure about terminal near my house. Does anybody know where the closest terminal for Pam Transport in Ohio is.

The reason I was asking this question again to get knowledge about fail control. Somebody wrote in my post that it was a citation. So I want to confirm from other drivers.

Yes I was wondering about a ticket I got in February. It was fail control in Ohio. So is this a citation or what. I got this during a accident on our last snow storm of the year. I think I hit black ice and lost control and hit a light pole on the off ramp. I haven't had anything on driving record in 10 years. How will this affect me getting a over the road job.

Lost control and struck a light pole( if it wasn't for my great driving skills I would have hit that pole head on, but it hit the left side of my car). Now I have fail control conviction from the sheriff. what's that considered( never had that before in my life). Is it considered reckless driving. I haven't had anything on my driving record for 10 years until now. Please can someone give some info so I can make my decision where I can go. Oh yeah I been looking at the squire program.
