You can work 14 hours a day, only 11 driving.

You may know this already, but at 18, you can only do intrastate. You must be 21 to do interstate.

This is why I chose a community college program. 8 weeks long, only 6 in the class, and much much cheaper.

Does anyone have information about transferring a CDL from Louisiana to Texas. Process, costs, testing (Especially Hazmat), etc. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I'm pretty sure it's similar to other states. Prices are probably different. For me to transfer a class B from Colorado to Mississippi was $85. 25 application fee, 55 for the 5 year cdl, and $5 for Passenger endorsement. Each endorsement is 5 bucks.

I was under the impression that MVR covers your complete driving record for every license you've had.

Yeah it's still in Alpha/Beta testing. The same company makes Euro Truck Simulator which has been out for years.

So I am making the biggest change in my life next month and getting into trucking. I decided on Prime as the company I want to start with.

Now my question is is it better to get your cdl permit before you start training or should I wait until I go in for training and take it in the state I will be training in? I been studying and I am ready to take it now.

When I take the test for my cdl perment can I take the test for my hazmat endorsement right then or do I need to wait until I take the test for the cdl license?

Is there a driving test for the permit or just a written test? I haven't been behind the steering wheel of a truck yet.

Any suggestions y'all have will be much appreciated. :)

It would probably be best to knock it out before you go. It's just written. Passenger, School bus, and Tanker are the only 3 endorsements allowed on permit.

My dog is going on the road with me. she has been by my side for 5 years now, not just going to giver her up. I'm everything to her and vise-versa. She's been all around the country with me already, so she will be good.
