Looks like I will finally be accepted for prime psd
Hey everyone, thanks!
I have an update. I received my transcript in the mail this afternoon and forwarded it to Sheryl, my prime recruiter. she told me everything looks in order as far as my previous employment/ schooling verification go. I was also told that my application was forwarded to the "verification department" and we should know tomorrow if I am "in" for sure. I'm looking at leaving for prime around Feb 26th so I can brush up on the High Road a bit (don't want to travel 18 hours from Jersey to Springfield only to fail lol). The TT forum has given me so much knowledge that I don't think I could have gotten elsewhere. Thanks again!
I'll keep ya's posted on my journey through the process for anyone who is interested :)
Peace -Joe

Hello TT, I posted here a few months back, pretty bummed because I was denied acceptance to Springfield due to my unverifiable work history. well, instead of giving up, I got a on the books job and now have my W2 and a pay stub. I called my recruiter at prime and was told as long as I fax over my college transcripts that everything is a go! :) I'm pretty psyched. My girlfriend who I live with is also thinking about obtaining her cdl so we can go team! any advice from any seasoned truckers is much appreciated!

And like I said try all the major carriers. See if they all say the same thing Prime did. I would guess that one of them would hire you.
I appreciate the help. I'm going to throw in a few more apps. I already tried swift as well.

What if you were self employed?? I've been a massage therapist for 3 years working for myself, up until my divorce. And before that, I was also working for myself. : /
You can still prove that you were working independently right?

Hello again, TT A few months ago I was rejected from prime for my "unverifiable work history." Unfortunately company sponsored training is my only real option for obtaining my class A. Due to me working under the table biting me in the ass, I grabbed a job where I am put on a payroll to sidestep my previous W2 issue.
Should I work this crappy job for a few years to show my work history or is there another way I can get my foot in the door of a company program now without holding out for a few years? I am aware of primes strict policies. Any replies are greatly appreciated. My grandfather drove a truck, everything is so regulated nowadays he says haha.

Is Prime the only company your looked into? I would try for all the major companies who offer CDL school, work for a year if you get the job and then go to Prime if that is where you want to be.
And to answer your question, yes I would work at that job for at least a year or two. As a former manager I would not hire a person with no credible work history if you are over 17
I worked the same job since I was 17 but I was paid cash, never submitted a W2. I honestly never really thought about it

No proof of employment problem for Prime PSD
Thanks to both of you. I am getting right on that as I write this. Would these companies be interested in me even if I do not have a permit? I am willing to go to just about any company who will give me a chance to escape my current situation, but do not have the sufficient funds to pay for training. Once again thank you for all the help.
Permit not required but preferred. Youll be fine without it, it'll just make it a little tougher on you.
right on I will keep you guys posted!

Thanks Sue :) I'm very motivated to learn about the world behind the wheel. Always admired the semi trucks since I was a tot driving in the car, I'd always make the motion for the driver to pull the horn haha.
