I'M FREE!!!

I escaped from Rainy D's dungeon where she has been hiding me away. But I'm back. After I get some food and a shower I'll post some updates.

That lady is crazy.

* * * * * * * * * * For those of you who don't know, I'm totally kidding. I've run into Rainy a couple of times at our terminal and she was joking that everyone on here says that once she meets people in real life they disappear from the forums, and that I need to post more so you all don't think I'm another one of her victims! I just got tired of typing everything out on my phone. I got a shiny new laptop so that makes typing much easier, and I'll be a more regular presence on here again.

Video of my Lightweight Truck

Wow! I'm glad the video is helpful to everyone. If you have friends or other trainees who are curious, the YouTube video is public, so you should be able to show anyone or forward it to them in an email or message.

As for the cuff locks, all the locks they give you will be in one box at the company store. Make sure you tell them you drive an International!! The Pittston store told me there were different boxes, but because so many people drive the Freightliners they give those out without asking. In my case, when I next stop at Pittston I'll be able to change out my locks for the right one. If they do not have the correct cuff lock for your truck and can't get you correct ones, talk to your FM. Mine said if they can't be corrected that I can get reimbursed for them. No sense paying for something you don't use.

On a side note, the cuff locks are really only required when you're running a high value load. If you're a solo driver you will almost have zero chance of running one. I wanted to use mine so I have a little extra security when I'm parking my truck on home time.

Also, I'm super jealous of the automatic!! I run a northeast regional route and I would sure love to not have to shift gears all the time!

Everyone be sure to post pics when you get your trucks!! (We should start a thread for showing off our trucks.)

Yup! Getting ready to pick up my load that will take me back today. Can't wait to be back.

And, in case it got lost in the comment thread, if I stay on this route permanently I'm considering moving to Lewiston or nearby. Can anyone give me anyour insight or info?

Good idea. And no, I can't search things like that on our QC. But I'm going to use your idea of making a list of bailout places. That will come in super handy. So far this has only happened once. Every other time I've had enough time to get back to Lewiston. But I also don't take a break during these runs. I just go until I get back to the DC.

Just did the trailer shuffle at a tiny store. Don't remember which one. There was nowhere to park it, and there was already a trailer sitting in the truck turn around, which was LOVELY. I lost 2 hours at that store, then the very next stop was Leominster. It took them so long I had to skip them to go to the next one because of noise ordinance, then come back, then end in Worcester. By that time I had 15 minutes left on my clock and Worcester said I couldn't park overnight. I went an hour into the hole on hours just to find another Walmart to park where I saw other trucks. That night sucked, but I still love what I'm doing there.

Oh! I forgot about the soda debate. I use all three words interchangeably, so no arguments there from me!

Yeah, I know it isn't exactly Wooster. I guess how I've heard it would be more accurately written as "Wustah".

Oh, I should add hot dogs are called steamers.
