Flew into Dallas Texas on American Airlines. Forget riding a bus from Columbia, Sc. Anyway i tallked my way into a $148 ticket to leave and arrive here 2 days after thanksgiving. I claimed new job and leaving home blah blah. And somehow i got the ticket cheap. God bless sympathy and calling to arrange a flight and talking to a human instead of just going on. The internet and paying whatever the machine offers....

Day 1 at Steven's Orientation day 1 involved paperwork, performing a 45 degree parking manuever inbetween two parked trailers, coupling/uncoupling, straight line backong, an array of safety training involving mirrors and blind sights. Their trucks have automatic slack adjuster calubrators so they made sure we at least knew wherevour slack adjusters were and showed us how to make it automatically adjust. We took about an 18 mile basic road test. Nothing crazy just regular driving. They use 8 speed transmissions which totally threw me off because i learned on an 10 speed. But i think i can adjust pretty quickly. Just no clue what speeds to shift at now. So gonna have to practice. Fortunately the horrific Americas best inn where they normally house people ( and many backpage add subscribers..) was full so they posted us up at microtel. Infinitely cleaner but the hot water has been broke 2 days now. Gotta love the housing they arrange. Haha! The day started at about 8 a.m. at the school and I'd say there were about 50 people. The funnybthibg is that qll the experienced drivers failed the road test. They didnt check their mirrors very much and sjifted faster than hell... But hit every pothole and were all over the road. This isnt in line with Stevens big thing on safety... Tomorrow begins at 5 am and we gp to 10pm. It was a long good day. With pizza for lunch and subway for dinner... Look forward to it not rainong all day on us in 40 degree weather. Te amo y'all!

I just graduated TDI from Richburg, SC,. Great place. Got my CDL in hand and a Turkey leg from Thanksgiving.... Saturday I ship off to Stevens Transport in Dallas... Will keep y'all updated of everything that happens...
