Every time you weigh-slide tandems-reweigh, enter the number of holes you slid and the change in weight on the steers in a spreadsheet row, then when you have enough rows, use the linear regression function to see if there is a linear relationship.

BTW Michael, I agree that there does seem to be at least a small change, and I see where you said in your first post "I know the change will be small". I think I'm a fellow geek who understands why you want to do this even if it's a small change. It would be cool to be able to model the truck so you could write a program to enter the axle weights and have it tell you the best tandem/5th wheel settings to use. But I also know in reality it would be overkill. I only started out 3 months ago and I can usually get close just by looking at how far back the trailer is loaded.

This person gets me. the program is for when you have to weigh on those pesky scales that require a little math to figure out the weight for each axil. I figured, hell, why not have it give me the optimal placement for the holes too. I have had a 700 pound change from steers to drives just by sliding the trailer... only happened once though.

Michael, sliding the tandems on your trailer should not affect your steers, but rather your drive axles. If one wants to change the weight on their steers this is accomplished by sliding the fifth wheel.

I know the effect is smaller, but there is an effect. I have had to correct an overweight problem on my steers before by slidingredients tandems.

I'm writing an excel program for the phone that calculates weight distribution and the amount of holes to slide trailer for equal load distribution and I'm needing to know roughly how much weight is placed on the steers (or removed) when trailer is slid one hole (assuming weight is perfectly distributed along length of trailer and each hole is accountable for 250 pounds on drives/trailer axil).

I know the variables effecting this are:

1. how trailer was loaded 2. type of trailer (gap size between holes) 3. type of freight

I'm looking for the mean average weight (or perhaps even median).

I know the change will be small.

I was wondering what the general consensus is on Adventists who are not able to work from Friday night sundown to Saturday night sundown in the trucking industry.

Would this be a problem for most companies? Is it possible to just take the 36 hour reset on Friday through Saturday evening and just pick up from there?

The pet policy is changing via Jan 1 2016. Does anyone know what this is changing too? Are they going to allow pets?

I've been looking in to getting a wireless internet connection (mifi) for my truck and was wondering if anyone has had any success with verizon's jetpack or their 4G LTE Broadband Router with Voice?

The jetpack uses both 3g and 4g LTE techonology (where it will default to 3g in the case that 4g LTE is unavailable). The router only uses 4g LTE which means if you move in to an area where there is no 4g LTE coverage, you lose the internet completely. This may or may not be a problem with a good antenna, I'm not sure. I like the option of the router better because it allows me to plug directly in to the modem (as opposed to losing 20% of my speed by using wireless) AND it gives me 2gigs worth of extra data on my plan per month for the same price.

Does anyone have experience with this? How do you have your internet set up? How well does it work for you? Do you drop internet connectivity when switching between cell towers?
