no idea yet, a lot of water tanker jobs in the area do the fracking, so that's an option, but I think I want to do OTR for a year or so to get experience. The school does have job placement assistance, so who knows. Its going to be a big change for me, I have been in management/IT for the past 25 years, But hoping this is what I get to do until I can retire.

I am bursting at the seems with excitement! I just got the call that everything checked out for me to start school in January. I have to schedule and take the DOT physical beforehand, but that doesn't worry me at all. I will be attending a local school, its 5 weeks. They do the actual cdl road test on site. This is great as I get to stay at home while training. The school is about 25 minutes from my home.

I passed that sign so many times in the past, never thinking that I would end up training with them. Funny how things work out.

They tell me that the first week is class room training to prep for the permit tests, then 4 weeks of actual hands on truck training.

I have started the process of enrolling in a truck driving training program and I have filled out the paper work for back ground checks etc. The last paper they gave me to take home and fill out was a paper for me to list each address and who I lived with at theses address dating back to 1975.

What the heck is that all about ?

Well, I just got the call I have been waiting for. Back ground check is done and I am heading to school on January 4th. I have to go in tomorrow to set up the DOT physical. Mot worried about that at all. I did ask about what the heck this where have I lived and with who since 1975 thing is .. answer is ... the school I am attending is a votech, which also serves the local Jr/Sr High schools, so this check is a child abuse thing.

No if none was called it shouldn't pop up on your MVR I would go to your dmv and see if it is In fact on your MVR if it's not there than you don't even have to mention it.

Wow, glad to hear that, I was a tad worried as I also had a minor fender bender about a year ago, but like the OP, no police involved, no tickets, and its not on my DMV report. I am hopefully starting at a private school in early January, still waiting on the back ground check to come back. Its been almost a month...I thought it would be back in 2 weeks.

I came across a new game, currently only for laptop/desktop. smart phone tablet version is being worked on.

it is called TRUCK NATION. It seems like a pretty cool game so far, dealing more with owner operations, than simulated driving.

I haven't played it yet, but I have watched Euro Truck Simulator 2 on Twitch.

According to Steam, they are working on making American Truck Simulator, but no release date has been announced.

The Euro version looks amazing, and a lot of mods are available such as snow runs etc.

Cool. Good luck to you. I should be staring training in early January myself. I have spent quite a few evenings reading the articles hear on truckingtruth.com. Great insight on what we should expect.
