License Question.

Thank you I appreciate the information, needed to know because of the confusion from schools

Epic, it works like this.. like your driver's license, it has to be in your home state. Of course if you attend school in a state you don't live in you generally get that states permit and test there, then upon pasding you go home and transfer your new cdl back to your home state.

3rd part testing: Some states certify 3rd party testers and allow them to give the exams, but not all states allow them. Here, all testing is done by Federal DOT officers.

So in the state of Connecticut they allow you to get your CDL from a 3rd party (different state)

Yea that seems like allott especially the fact you would need to use their address I'm guessing.

I live in and got my permit in Ohio, but my company sent me to a school in Wisconsin. I took my cdl test there as well. There werent any problems for me, I just had to transfer the license over to my home state when I got back. It was a little annoying having to pay license fees two times, but the process went smoothly

License Question.

Good evening all, so I'm about to take my medical and the get my "permit" within the state of Connecticut. I reached out to a few sponsored schools which said and quote "if I train with us you will take your road test and get your CDL with us" be advised these schools are not within Connecticut. I was also told a new law started in 12/15 that allowed 3rd parties to test. Please enlighten me with any and all information you have before I head out
