Wages and tax's for drivers

Thank you for the information ,there is so much conflicting information out there and because as you say all states have different rules it gets really confusing . I think I will have to get over there again and go to the dmv and dot in the area I want to go to and just ask all the questions and hopefully get some diffinative answers but think it will be a long process .Also because the driver shortage over there you would think they would be eager for truckers to move and work there

Wages and tax's for drivers

I would rather be a company driver than owner driver ,I know people over there who say they would sponsor me . I have been in touch with xpo logistics and they said they would put me through cdl licence as soon as I got my car licence ,they say they don't need you to show any time between your car licence and doing your cdl as I got told this before and was really worried about it so thought I would ask a company about it

Ok here is what I have found out now so far as regards moving to the USA . Have to take tests for all my licenses nothing on dot Web site for requirements for cdl licence as to show one year in car be being able to go for my cdl licence . I have emailed xpo logistics recruitment team and they came back with the answer that I can go straight into cdl training once I have got my car test done . If anybody has anymore information that would be great

Thank you again for your help I thought I might have to take a new test to drive trucks over there . I didn't realise the rest you have told me about I am going to Las Vegas in June so I will look up a training centre there and stop by and find out a few things when I am there in person . Just a thought will my motorbike licence be valid in the USA

Thank you for the information I do have friends who live in the USA and they would probably sponsor me and my wife , but did not realise that I would have to show a year's driving just a car before I could take a cdl licence as this would be hard for me to find work as only really been a driver all my life . I do know a firm that delivers my company's frozen food to all our shops has been taken over by xpo transport which I think is a American company

I am a British truck driver and was wondering what the procedure would be if I want to move to the USA and become a truck driver there I have over 20 years experience as a class 1 driver in the UK . I think I will have to get a cdl licence as mine will no doubt be invalid there but hoping to get some great advice if you could help as really would like to move to the USA
