I've been a lurker here on TT and I'm looking into beginning a new career in trucking. My driving and criminal records are clean, but I've had a pretty sizable employment gap in my work history over the past three years. I had been attending college, but ended up moving back home after my dad's health started to fail. In that time, I worked under the table as a freelance video editor, but nothing that I filed taxes for. The situation at home has improved enough to where I've been applying for paid training programs, but this employment gap seems to have me hamstrung. I'm expecting a call back from my Prime recruiter later this afternoon, but the person I spoke to earlier said that this could immediately put me out of the running for consideration. Has anyone here had any experience with this problem and can offer some advice? Thanks!
