So I haven't been out here in a long time.
How is everyone?
Me?? I'm still trucking like most of us here, so far so good and I've been doing line haul for few years now.
I run a little under 550 miles daily with a wiggle 99% 5 days a week and no work on major holidays.
If you have any question regarding "ESTES" I will be sure to answer you the best that I can. Also some more info regarding LTL in case you have a question.
Be safe everyone! Miss ya all :)

Whats going on TT? Haha I've been missing a lot here. I've been so busy with trucking & personal life so wasn't able to check on here like I used to.
Everything is good to me. Still with the same company since I started driving. Still OTR. 2017 has been great. Ended my year accident & ticket free so I'm proud.
I remember the time when I just started haha! I can't even back up a trailer! Now its a daily routine to me to put that box in a dock.
I miss everyone! Bret, Gtown and all of ya! I work entire holidays to give people that has family the chance to be with their loved ones during those days..Now it's time to do my time off! Hahaha
I will be off for vacation again for a total of 18 days overseas. It's been an amazing journey! Everyday is a challenge. Trucking never gets old.
Thats all for now! Gotta get my laundry done hahaha! Happy trucking guys! Be safe!! 😊😊😊

In the near future I will be attending Orientation with Maverick Transportation. My question today is I already have my PA CDL class A with SPTX endorsements. If I wanted to add Motorcycle to it as well I can go to Penndot take the written test and obtain a permit for it that is valid for a year. Because I currently hold a valid license of a different class I can practice on the motorcycle anytime I am home off work during the day until I actually take the driving portion of the test and get the new class added to my CDL. The permit is valid for a year.
I remember from the application they asked about any permits I have or have had in the recent history and for their numbers and such. These questions were in the Drivers license section of the application. Will having a motorcycle permit in addition to my CDL cause any problems or issues for my prospective employer? I don't think it would but I wanted to ask here to be more sure. God knows I have a ton of stuff to learn here.
No it's not gonna be an issue. They are more concern of endorsement on Class A. I have motorcycle endorsement with mine before I got a Class A. They added it with no problem with all the endorsements I have including the M. Hope that helps!

I take home a little over $1000 every week after all deduction. I reset every week too so would say it's good money.
It really depends on how much miles you get and pay..I'm pretty happy with my money :-)

Are there generally Walmarts, supermarkets and grocery stores along a trucker's route?
Finding grocery is easy. Search a close walmart , target in the area then go to the dock area. Make sure you are not blocking anything. I've done it in all state , I park behind the building to where trucks normally dock. As long as you are not blocking anything they will not tow you out.
With all State I love Oklahoma City. Right there along I44 close to Love's you will see the biggest mall in Oklahoma, plenty of choices for parking. I normally go behind target..Theres Camera , plenty of lights so I feel safe. Take note that area is in the middle of shopping center!! Cinema, Mall and others..
Along I40 plenty of Walmart like Gallup, they have walmart thats very truck friendly. Wyoming has one too along Rock Spring..
If you also want decent food for stop I would suggest Nick's Barb-Q & Catfish along I40 exit 193 in Arkansa. North 40 Truck Stop along I40 in TN , Cowboys restaurant along I40 in Oklahoma who serve unli steak every weekend, Russel's Truck Stop along 40 just off Texas/New Mexico Statelane..
Those are just few of my fav stops to eat. Truck friendly!!

I called Superior Cariers today and ask them about the position they have. They will take me but I need to relocate to texas their hiring area which is Houston,TX or Pasadena. She said it gotta be 50 radius from the terminal.
She offered me $.52/ mile loaded $.42/mile empty.
I'm wondering if it's a good deal? I have my endorsement needed but I need to get TWIC card.
Or do you have any other suggestion for tank/chemicals/food grade that do regional?
How much OTR do you have with AMX?
After a year - everything pretty much opens up a lot more.
Weren't you talking about relocating?
Rick
I will have 1.5 yrs OTR exp when I join them. Yeap planing relocating end of this year do regional run in tank division.

Okay! So I am starting trucking school in a couple weeks. The school said I would be making 600-800 per week my first week on the job.
With that in mind, I sign up for the school. Get a date a few weeks from today to start. I'll be in school for 3 weeks at 12 hours per day, only able to work 2 days per week. So for those 3 weeks? I will be without an income, floating on a credit card. I was alright with this, Surely if I made even 500 per week, I would be able to recover my losses. All is good, right? Wrong...
The list of companies I was offered were shot down by a friend of mine who has been in the trucking job for years, He narrowed the list down from 5 to 2. It came down to Covenant and Stevens Transport. I ended up going with Stevens Transport.
After a bit of research, I learned that I will only be making about $350 (up to $450 if I help load and unload trucks) starting out for 6-8 weeks. Crunching a bit of math, I quickly realize I'll be making about $500 less than what I am making right now at my current job. In this situation, The job starts out worse but gets drastically better after those 6-8 weeks. I'd be driving reefers for starting out at 0.30 CPL.
The problem? During this 6-8 weeks I really won't be able to afford everything due me only making $350 per week. To put it in a different perspective, I will be working 70 hours a week as a trucker on a salary of $350 per week for 6-8 weeks while driving with a trainer. Right now, I am making $450 per week only working 40 hours a week.
In this situation.. What would you guys do? Thank you all for you time and input.
It all depends with the company but sometimes you need to start lower. You can't just earn money right on the spot. If you need to earn that to start making the big money then be it. As soon as you get experience that will change :-)

DAC says I ran off road (technically true). Unemployable for 5 years now?
Here is how it went Low viability, icy roads, night, heavy snowfall on I-80 in WY, I pull into a parking area behind a truck but my trailer is sticking out. When I went to fix myself I had no traction and decided to play with the wheel and ended up offroad in a "ditch" (my drivers went a bit off road into a slight incline/grass I couldn't see because of snow). Well I tried to fix myself and couldn't so panicked and sent a qualcomm message "Slide off road into ditch", not really thinking this would come back to haunt me. Well now company reports on DAC That I ran off road parking @ a rest area. Well this is technically true it kinda makes the situation seem worse than it was. Is there anything I can do?
How much damage? Did they tow the truck? Company normally charge you for tow bill if you get stuck. Last year my front tire missed the ramp in a shippers scale. No other damage except the botton part some wirings, my colant starts leaking..I'm not sure if they report it but I guess they did. As preventable. I took pictures of everything to defend myself for future employment.
Anothet thing, I got stuck in the mud. It was my fault. I shoulda park in a soft area haha..Actually It wasn't really soft when I park to get some meal in a resto not til it rained. Boom! got stuck , they have to tow my truck/trailer to pull off the mud. I paid for it $635!! Hahaha So lesson learned!
My company din't fire me after what happened. I'm still employed. I don't have plan about leaving. No ticket or whatever.
My advice is just relax. Think positive, as long as you are a good employee I don't think ur employer will turn you down just because of what happened. Unless you have a fatality 😊

Most congested city you've hauled freight to or from.
My company doesn't pay tolls in Texas either. I've been told that particular toll can run you $65-75. Sometimes might be worth it...about the only times I've found I35 not bumper to bumper is a couple hours in early afternoon or after about 8:30-9:00 at night.
NYC is probably #1 on my list and everyone has hit the other major cities. ChickieMonster, if you take the 130 toll road in Georgetown, you'll avoid all the Austin area traffic. It ends about 20 miles east of San Antonio on 10.
I would LOVE to be able to take the toll road around Austin but unfortunately company policy says we can't unless under an extremely tight load.
Wow that suckzzz! My company does pay all the tolls even if I deadhead I still use toll. Made it easy for us!

My top 5
1. New York City
2. Washington DC
3. Atlanta/Dallas
4. Los Angeles
5. Chicago
Nothing can beat those list! Haha But I'm so used with Newyork and DC traffic. I don't mind going there. I HATE ATLANTA not because of the traffic but the never ending construction in 70!!! 🙄

California or Texas? I'm moving!
Hi TTErs! It's been 2 weeks since I got back from my vacation and had a blast! I have a question for those living in California. Do we need to retake everything if ever I will move there? I got engaged last month to my long time partner and thinking about relocating to maybe L.A or Dallas,TX..but I'm kind of confused!! I really like OTR but I don't think I still wana be on the road for a while when I get married haha! Maybe one more year then I might go local..
So I'm planing on relocating anytime soon but can't decide!! I'm more concern pretty much with the job opportunity. Is better to move in california or texas?? Advice?
Anyway here's a photo of me at Batu cave Kuala Lumpur Malaysia! Just thought wana share! Keep rocking truckers!! Be safe out there!

Training isn't for me.
I also train in my terminal for women. We don't hire drivers that doesn't have any experience so its a lot easier for me. The recent one that i trained was from UPS, she was cool and been driving for 4 years. I don't know how other people do it with driver that doesn't have experience lol. Plus, I hate having another driver in my truck..feels like I dont have a privacy lol
I only train women in line haul division, no men :)
