Just starting to think about this
I am about to apply for the Canadian Forces, and one of the jobs that is in demand right now is the mobile equipment operator, which basically has you learning how to operate anything from snowplows to buses to tractor trailers. They say there is a 90 day course you go to after your basic training, and that there are no experience needed.
I have only ever learned automatic and I have never owned my own car, so my driving experience is limited.. however I do consider myself a fast learner/hard worker... my main worry however is my hands... I play a lot of video games ( I know this really isn't relevant) but I do know I have skill and precision ability. My problem is the size of my hands, I'm a 5'11 guy, every part of my body is normal for my size except for my hands, which are stupidly small. I measure 7 inches from where my palm and wrist meet to the tip of my middle finger... this hasn't really hindered me in any activities or sports ive played, but I'm worried that my short little fingers will make this line of work impossible.
Basically my question is, do you need long sausage fingers to operate heavy vehicles for a living, or can my skill and ability still allow me to excel in this profession?
Sorry if this is stupid but this is really bothering me and holding me back from applying which I can't wait much longer to do.
Thanks for anyone who reads this and or gives advice!

One of the reasons I think they are so small is because a lot of my girl friends have bigger(longer) hands than me lol!
But I really appreciate everyone's input, and I think I am going to put this trade down as my number 1 on my application =)
