Set up to go

Just recently went solo. Getting through training was tough financially. I don't know your situation, but be sure to have a plan to get through that phase of the process. Also, if u can, buy your own food and drinks for the truck. These truck stops are money pits and will drain your bank account quicker than you think.

It's going to be tough financially. My wife will be working but we do have two kids to feed. My current job just doesn't have any advancement for me so we have decided for me to go this route.

Set up to go

After I have finally done all my research on trucking companies that sponsor CDL. I am going with Jim Palmer. Bought my flight ticket and am ready to start. Any pointers on when I get there from any experienced drivers or students? I have possessed my CDL Permit twice. I'm just ready to get behind a wheel and drive. After it runs in the blood of my family.

Possible trucking career

Hello Everyone, I'm new to the forum name is Marty. I currently work for FedEx Freight Part-time. I do have a family and two young kids. My wife and I are thinking about me doing a career in OTR since FedEx won't put me through the driver apprentice program. So I have been doing my research on trucking companies. And I am going to go with Jim Palmer. I start June 20th in the school. I have seen the forum on the training program and the company. I was wondering if there was any Jim Palmer drivers here and what outsiders think of the company. Any helps and is greatly appreciated.
