Robert G.'s Bio

When I was about twelve, I read that time slows down when approaching the speed of light so I constructed a time machine by securing my father's portable generator to the back of my mini-bike with rope and attaching the drive belt to the back wheel. Unfortunately, instead of traveling through time and finding myself in the future, I traveled about fifty metres along the footpath at 200mph before finding myself in a bush. When asked by the nurse filling out the hospital accident report "Cause of accident?" I stated 'time travel attempt' but she wrote down 'stupidity'. If I did have a working time machine, the first thing I would do is go back four days and tell myself to read the warning on the hair removal cream packaging where it recommends not using on sensitive areas.

I wish that I did have a time machine, I would take my Macbook Pro back to 1984 and visit Steve Jobs. After selling my laptop to him for millions I would return to the present. I could do this several times as each time the present technologies would have changed. It is a flawless plan, I am sure you will agree, lacking only the availability of time/dimension manipulation technologies....

Why park like that?

One thing that drives me crazy is people that park their bobtail in a full size parking spot WAY in the back of the spot so you can barely see them until you get eye to eye with the spot.

Why? I must be in the minority as i pull my bobtail even with everyone else.

It doesn't help with other people backing next to you. I think it's even harder because your reference is SO far back it's harder to judge. Also you **** people off when they think the spot is open.

Can anyone explain this to me pls. I must be missing something.

I am one of those people who park like that. I can say, me reasons are not to be funny or to **** anyone off. I choose to park that way to block the wind, rain, engine noise and light (lot lamps and sun) .

New To The Site- Introduction

Hello all, my name is Robert G. and I recently moved to Jackson Mississippi from Jackson Wyoming. Sounds like I did not go far, but I did... I am a veteran driver of 25+ years in HazMat, Tanker, Doubles/Triples. My work experience has been in the crude oil transport business until the bottom dropped out and it became competitive for what remains to be moved. Having moved from Wyoming to Mississippi, I have just signed on with Scheider National as a bulk tanker driver on a dedicated run, guaranteed home weekends, and 47 cents per mile. Not even close to what I was pulling in on crude oil, but this will be fine for the times they are a changin and I am happy to have a decent job. I never attended truck driving school, somehow I did this from square 1 and took advantages of opportunities as they came up as they often do. From what I see here on this forum are new drivers complaining somewhat about their duties... I would advise these young drivers to 1st- turn your CB radio off. 2nd- advance their careers and stop complaining. If you do nothing about your situation, then you deserve to wallow in it. 3rd- Get your HazMat, Tanker and Doubles/Trip endorsements and put them to use. You certainly will never hear me complain about something which I have total control over....

I look forward to reading over the posts and having input and opinions on this forum. It looks well put together and easy to use. Stay safe out there. Robert G.
