TripleDigits 's Bio

I left driving a class B propane tanker to tryout the Class A world. I attended Georgia Northwestern Technical College in Rockspring, GA to obtain my CDL. I'm not sure where I'm headed but I hope I get paid good on the way there!

What did you do before becoming a truck driver?

Everything. I've worked retail, warehouses, fast food, carpet mills, landscaping, 911 Operator, but before I went to CDL school I drove a class B propane tanker. It got me used to being in a large vehicle, and I did very well in school. Now I start orientation Monday and look forward to learning all that i can from my trainer!

Seeking up to date info on Kiem TS

Well after a lot of consideration I chose to go to Rosedale Transport out of Dalton,GA. Their terminal is only about 15 miles from my house, their starting pay is decent. I was starting to kinda stress myself out trying to choose a company to start with so I'm pretty happy that part is out of the way and I start orientation Monday.

Seeking up to date info on Kiem TS

Hey guys/gals,

I am new here. Finished CDL school Friday (12/3) and passed my road test Monday morning. I was trying to get on at Atlantic Bulk Carrier but they told me to reapply when I get 6 months experience. So now it's on to plan b which was originally Rosedale Transport out of Dalton, GA or Kiem TS which the closest terminal to me is Jasper, TN. I'm leaning more towards Kiem because they are a flatbed outfit. A little background on me I came from driving class B propane tanker and I enjoy getting out from behind the wheel occasionally and I don't mind the elements....unless they're going crazy lol.

I'm really hoping to hear from some Kiem TS drivers.

What sort of hometime are you getting?

Avg yearly salary? (I know this can depend a lot on a drivers work ethic)

Is tarping as bad as some people say it is? I don't mind hard work but some people seem like tarping alone caused them to give up a flatbed career! (Again.....work ethic)

The recruiter that came into our school said since we're in the southeast we'd probably do better on % vs mileage pay. Does that sound right?

Sorry this post turned out to be so long, thanks in advance for anyone who takes the time to read it and respond.

-Nathan
