You can totally get a full size truck if you want, but you may have to wait a couple days until one becomes available. Also, they won't pay for the addl days of hotel room while you're waiting. I've heard it usually isn't much of a wait anyway.

In the reefer division, you'll get paid 5cpm less if you want a full size. The flatbed division doesn't run lightweights, only fullsize trucks and a few midroofs.

Lastly, when you switch division there will be additional training required for that division. I'm not sure exactly how much training though. I think I heard 10k miles, but don't quote me on that.

Ya thats what i heard. I got some guy up here saw he pretripping tryin to get me assigned to his truck i hope he is good lol. I told them i wanted to switch my preffered to flatbed so i can just jump into it. People were sayin flatbed getting a lil slow but as a company driver they will prob always have loads for me since im cheap labor

I was told by the instructors that s reefer 99% chance a new person will get lightwieght.

She got her clear late yesterday so now its just me waiting. And since everyone is closed on weekends i will be waiting for sure till monday. Gonna make sure they know i will go reefer to flatbed with a preferance of flatbed i think. Dont want to get stuck with a lightweight truck haha!

02/24/17 Well today was pretty crappy overall i guess. Still no word on the drug test no idea why its taking so long I believe one other girl is waiting on hers too. Doubt they run any tests on the weekend which means just sitting and waiting all weekend. Recruiter called and said if there is any chance it could be positive let her know now and she will just send me home but if its positive on monday I will be SOL and I gotta get my own way home, not a big deal since I dont do drugs just a lil disheartening having that convo. Spent my day doing pre trip and did some SIM stuff to kill time, went to steak n shake for the first time it was pretty good. Also tried HuHot which is a mongolian grill buffet, pretty good as well. No idea what I will be doing this weekend except pretrip sooo ya...not much I can give updates on pretty bummed out right now been working so hard I am usually the only one from my entire class out doing pretrip and stuff and now this is holding up my progress. A couple of the guys i met hanging out seem to be leaving tomorrow or sunday so looks like alot of hurry up and wait. Sorry its not a very exciting update or anything.

02/23/17 Hey All! Sorry for the late update been a little busy the last two days, so heres a little update. I got my paper permit and all that ran everything through the office, finished all my CBTs and tested out for my sim driving with a 99/100 so did amazing on that. They passed out badges today unfortunately I did not get mine finished everything but they are slow walking my **** test, i was 2nd in line to do it but they still havnt got back the results (nothing to worry about its clean) so I am just sitting here at this point in time. Messed with my pre trip today today Took me 3 hours to learn the engine and coupling which I can now go through without hte paper at all. So at this point I am basically just waiting for my badge and a trainer to hit me up. I walked to one guy who had my name but talked to this other girl first and ended up picking her up but we got along really well so a bit of a shame but it was cool! I am prob forgetting a little something at this point but I will update more when I remember and as I keep going.

Hey man I just got word that after this trip to Utah, we're going to be routed back to Springfield so I can upgrade! I should be there sometime this weekend. Hope to see you there, unless you're out on the road for PSD already.

That would be awesome! We shall see, wonder what happens if i dont have someone by Friday though lol they shacked me up in the Ramada I doubt I will get to keep this room lol!

(stupid submit button) so i can do videos on my time here and then hopefully get some when i go on the road to keep updates with that and eventually once i get my own truck i plan to do like dash cam time lapse and all that fun stuff.

22:41 Just finished sim class, downshifting...sooo easy when the sim just drives in a straight line for you, got it my first try...Cant wait for them to let me try while i have to pay attention to the truck. Not going to do skip shifting until tomorrow but i played with it a little in the last 10 mins of class doesnt seem hard at all to me. But like anything you learn in here...once your actually in the truck you will forget it all lol! Now I am just relaxing in my room not much to do except sleep soon i spose. Think I am gonna set up my youtube channel tomorrow or the next day so i can do video

Lol ill keep that in mind. Drug tests and background check still pending but i should be good on that anyways since i dont do drugs. I figure one small hurdle tomorrow and I'll be ok
