Hi Lisa! People call me Cappy and I'm starting this week in Salt Lake City on the 28th as well. I'm 55, a retired commercial fishing boat captain(yep, another male dominated industry), so I'm used to the adventurous, never know what kind of day this will be, lifestyle, I've always been safety conscious and am totally okay with living out of a travel bag. Needless to say, I have been bored out of my mind! "Normal 'jobs' " are so boring and unsatisfying to me, I need challenges, open space and a career, not just a job. I've been kind of depressed since I moved away from the salt air, so it's time for a new adventure. I'm also used working with some pretty rough and tough guys on the boat so that won't take any getting used to. I've wanted to do this for years and life's too damn short to not go for it! I already have my CDL Permit w/tanker endorsement so I'm looking fwd to getting some serious simulator time in since it will be a short week due to the holiday, unfortunately I have to wait until tomorrow so BRING IT ON!

On the bus here, there were 6 guys starting their classes, 5 from CR England and 1 that was fired from CR England and starting all over again with Swift, the guy was using some pretty sad excuses for his employment departure although I found it kind of entertaining. I was the only one with Prime but I'm sure there are more here at the hotel. They were all asking how I got in with them as they either couldn't pass the application process or couldn't get a returned phone call after their app was put in. I couldn't give them a good reason and frankly, avoided any suggestions but was positive about my experience so far.
