Driving with expired DOT med card?

I would recommend DO NOT repeat DO NOT drive without a valid card. Very bad. No matter what, it is your license not dispatches or your trainers that will get hurt. I don't remember the legal outcome of doing so right at the moment, but my state sent me a notice of disqualification if I didn't get it done. Got a new card and e-mailed info in the nik of time. I'm guessing right now you are disqualified from operating a CMV. Read up on that and don't drive until you have a valid card.

What's the funniest thing you've seen on the road?

I've seen more than a few stuffed animals in the passenger seat. What's that about?

You can throw them out there if you'd like and I'd appreciate it a bunch. Maybe use them another time or this time. Had already anticipated the pay to park. Might enjoy a hot meal outside the truck since it's payday. Save a bunch not eating at truck stops now but a sit down meal once a week is a treat.

Gotta go to Sacramento first. My routings not so much an issue as timing. The hours I have to work with. And where to park when I get to LA. Put in a running late and repower request. The load was initially assigned late from the get go. The dead line for departure was from Storm Lake, IA at 12:50 pm 07/15. I was in Hopkins, MN at 11:00 am when they gave me the load (227mi) and said don't worry about the DLD. Just go get it and roll after my 10 hr break. I'm figuring make the 49er in Sacramento the afternoon of the 19th then receiver in Sacramento next am and receiver in Stockton after that then head as far toward LA as I can with remaining hours on the 20th. Make LA the 21st.

Not lazy just was early in my day and didn't see the sense in taking up time. If I've been driving for a few or several hours then yeah I get out so I can appreciate a stretch and a walk. Sometimes the coffee goes straight thru in 30 minutes. Seems efficient to me. OK so I should have said many of us use a bottle. And why would I get on your truck? I've got one. Yea I shower about once every 2 weeks. Just kidding. For your info I even wipe up if I sprinkle and put the seat down when I'm done. Urinals, no, but regular toilets, yes. And I make the bed everyday.

Been to the 49er before. That's my gaol for the 19th. LA oughtta be a hoot. The Bronx was alright so maybe this won't be too bad either.

Another state getting checked off

VT is weird with exit #'s. NH too. Like NY. They are not posted by mile marker but numerical order. Oh why can't they all just be the same? Rainy If you get to do any back roads in VT it's beautiful. Like going back in time. Lots of old churches, small villages.

We all do the bottle I'm guessing. No shame. I don't feel like walkin' all the way to the restroom in the middle of the night. I want go right back to sleep. I've pulled into a service or rest area and used my bottle and then just headed right back out. Cutting back on coffee helped with not having to go as frequently. Like the others said... dispose of kindly. Don't be like the jerk who left a wallyworld bag of poo in the parking lot that I was lucky to discover when duckin' under my trailer during post trip. Who does that?

Parking in CA

Thanks Gladhand. Some quick calculations. Haven't talked to dispatch yet as I just parked a few minutes ago and ate a quick kibble and started on this first so I would have some info on hand when I do. Ok, so right now I'm in Wamsutter, WY for my 10. I have coming back hours at 24:00 tonight of 9:23. Tomorrow night 10:06 and then the next 8:13. I figure I could make Carlin, NV. tomorrow ( 428 mi). Then Sacramento the next (470 mi) But Sacramento would be pretty much it. Stockton being another 49mi. Stockton to Vernon would require a whole days worth of hours. Am I seeing this right?
