Well I am a complete greenhorn with a Class A Permit. My wife is working on her permit now. I have spent the last month researching the best schools company driven training programs and the best beginning pay and companies that take on teams and have settled with Swift and will be heading to the academy in a couple of days. My wife will be joining a few weeks later and God willing we will be teaming within the next 2 months. Ive done hotshot work (with a one ton and flat beds/wedge trailers) and my family on my mamas side has had trucking in their blood for many generations. I've worked on the road ever sense I've left home for the army 20 years ago. I think whoever started this site is the man! The information is invaluable and I can't wait to do my favorite part of all the traveling... the drive.

The truth I've found in searching for the right school
Truth: the more you research the more of an opportunity you'll give yourself to make a good decision.
Truth: When you ask a driver an opinion about a company ran school and they trash the company; smile and say thank you and go ask a student about their experiences with the school they went to. Information is important and powerful. However hearing the disgruntled gripings of an experienced driver about people who graduated a school and act like ass hats behind the wheel may discourage you from seeking your own truth to fulfill your personal goals and the path you set yourself on may be filled with biased which is never benificial.
Ultimate truth: being here on this site is by far the best place to begin your journey for the simple fact that there is so much information and tools. And you always get out what you put in. I wish I knew of this place in the beginning not the end of my fact finding mission. Then again everything is a learning experience.
