Thanks Rick good advice. Larmar Univ. Beaumont, TX wants $3,000 for their 8 week course. I could only find two reviews of the school online and they were both bad.

I have a local company I can go to work for that will train me after I get my cdl... Is there any 3-4 week driving schools that will allow me to pay for my cdl training without a commitment to go to work for a certain company?

The local school I'm looking into is an 8 week course and the new class doesn't start until July 5th.

I'll be 60 in July, I want to go to driving school, get my cdl again and drive otr for the next 8 years. My health is great, I like the nomadic lifestyle and I drove a tandem dump years ago and liked it. Are there any old rookies out there like me?
