Well, so far so good! Have the airbrake inspection down, entire tractor pre-trip down. A lot of information to take in , in a short amount of time. But I got this! The last 2 1/2 days was spent on straight line backing. I actually got this down pretty good. we would have been on off-set backing today but the instructor wanted to concentrate more on straight line backing with the other student today. It just gave me more time to refine my techniques better. The upcoming week we have off-set backing and parallel parking. Not looking forward to parallel parking a semi.! Also coming up for me are my DMV tests for HAZMAT, Tankers, and Doubles/triples. Later in the course I will also be getting my passenger (bus) endorsement as well. Might as well get what I can since I have the time to do it. I also have my TSA appointment for HAZMAT and TWIC Card Thursday afternoon. Busy week for me and a busier weekend studying for everything! Till next time.............

Hey Daniel, I to plan on working for May. I should be starting CDL school in a few weeks. My nephew works for them and he really likes them. Good home time, decent pay. And most important to him, his DM treats him very well. As a military retiree, I value a good manager/supervisor that treats their people well. Of course there are a lot more we talked about at family functions that would be to much to list here, I think you made the right choice. One thing I would say to research upon your employment with them is to ask a lot of questions about their flat rate pay for your first year of working with them. It just may be a better option than cpm pay until you start getting the miles under your belt. Good luck!

Well, that was a hell of a lot easier than I thought it would! Next time I won't be so wound up because I'll know what to expect. Only got a 1 year certificate because of the BP meds I am on. No big deal, so I have to go back in a year. At least I got the medical certificate! Next stop, CA DMV on the 29th for the permit!

After weeks of waiting my very first DOT Physical/Drug test is finally here this morning. I absolutely have no problems in passing, however I'm still nervous as hell. Wish me luck! BTW, it looks like I will be starting CDL school second week of September . Can't wait to get started!
